I am excited to share my renewed focus on community engagement as I begin my next term. Over the past years, I've had the honor of working on projects and initiatives that have brought meaningful progress to our ward. However, after listening to many of you, it’s clear that we share a common goal: more connection, communication, and collaboration.

My new term will be centered on a Community Engagement focused platform designed to keep you informed, involved, and connected with what’s happening in our ward and across the city. I am committed to being more visible and accessible, so that together, we can continue building a stronger, more vibrant community.

Community Engagement

-Establish Neighborhood Connections: Foster stronger ties within our neighborhoods and between residents by forming neighborhood groups.

- Issue a Ward Newsletter: Regular updates on key initiatives, events, and important ward information delivered right to your inbox.

- Host More Ward Meetings and Events: Opportunities to come together, share ideas, and address community concerns.

- Enhance Communication about City and Ward Highlights: Keep you informed on relevant city developments, projects, and exciting ward updates.

- Advertise and Hold Office Hours: Dedicated time for you to meet with me directly and discuss any questions, feedback, or concerns.

Economic Development

Equally important, with the Barber Colman/Colman Yards redevelopment currently under construction, this historic $400M investment is setting the stage for a new era, drawing interest from investors and developers who now view South Rockford with fresh perspective. This transformation is more than just a single project—it’s a signal that South Rockford is ready for growth and opportunity.

The addition of the 700 S. Main Water Power Lofts, 301 S. Main apartments, Davis Park improvements, and the upcoming IDOT investment in commuter rail service from Rockford to Chicago further establishes the South Main corridor as prime real estate. These initiatives promise to make South Rockford a vibrant hub for business, tourism, and residential growth.
